Hi. I’m Belen Worsham, and this is just a little about me.
I am a college freshman attending Lone Star College – Cyfair Location in Cypress, Texas. I grew up home-schooled and involved in my church, which I have been a part of since infancy. I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder in my preteen years as well as with depressed tendencies and was recently “officially” diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder). I love showing those around me that mental illness is not a handicap, and is instead an opportunity to tell others about how blessed I am to have loved ones who support me as I live with these illnesses.
What is your faith?
I try not to let denominations define my faith, as I feel that all Christians should be unified across the world in their devotion to God and their desire to spread The Good Word. However, I attend a Baptist church and resonate strongly with the Baptist denomination.
Who serves as an inspiration to you?
Although I know it is a cliché, I would say my greatest role model and source of inspiration is my mother. She has encouraged me and mentored me for my whole life, serving as an example for how to live with mental illnesses without letting them define who you are.
What are your hobbies?
I love creating and consuming stories across multiple platforms. I love to write, read and watch TV and movies with plots that grip me and make me contemplate a bit. I also love spending time with friends, making people laugh, and spending a lot of time with my family.
What are your plans for the future?
I intend to attend Lone Star College for two years to complete my basic courses here at home before transferring to University of North Texas in Denton, Texas to pursue a degree in marketing with a concentration in advertising. However, I am open to wherever God takes my life.
